Kedah state assembly to be dissolved on Wednesday

ALOR SETAR - The Sultan of Kedah Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah acceded to dissolve the Kedah state assembly on June 28 to make way for the state elections.

This was announced by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor after meeting with the Sultan at Wisma Darul Aman on Sunday.

Sanusi appeared for over an hour before Sultan Sallehuddin to present the proposed date for the state assembly dissolution starting at 10.30am.

Sanusi arrived at about 10.22am at Wisma Darul Aman to present the proposed date for the state assembly dissolution which will happen this Wednesday.

It was followed by Sultan Sallehuddin’s arrival at about 10.26am at Wisma Darul Aman.

Six states will hold an election this year including Kedah, Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu.

For the record, Pas has the highest state assembly seats with 14 seats followed by Bersatu with six seats, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) with five seats, Amanah with three seats while Umno, Gerakan and DAP each has two seats in Kedah.
