'You have to remember, I defeated you' - Amiruddin hits back at Azmin

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has slammed the statement made by Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali who claimed he was the one responsible for submitting Amirudin's name to be considered at the new menteri besar in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Amirudin reminded the former menteri besar that he was the one who defeated him in Gombak Parliament on the GE15 battlefield six months ago.

"Min (Azmin), listen up, Min. This is just a warm-up. Now he (Azmin) is bringing things up. Bring it up, I still remember.

"Min, look, Min; I was the one who defeated you six months ago.

"After you did not become Selangor Menteri Besar, our investment reached up to RM18 billion. This RM 18 billion is the best in 30 years

"He (Azmin) doesn't know what this investment is like. Or was he always busy going to Sandakan looking for investors?" he said during the Selangor state election machinery Launch in Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam on Saturday.

Azmin previously revealed what according to him, actually happened during rhe Selangor Menteri Besar replacement in 2018.

Azmin claimed that at the initial stage, his former party Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) did not hand in Amirudin's name as PH's candidate to become the new menteri besar after GE14.

However, Azmin admitted that he was the one who submitted the Sungai Tua assemblyman's name to the palace to be elected as Menteri Besar

According to Amirudin, the state election machinery launch was held to explain to voters the confusion caused by the constant defamation attacks by PN.

He added that voters need to defend the existing government to maintain the excellence and the prosperity achieved in the state.

"We have to defend this state; defend it for the prosperity and welfare of the people. PN has no arguments. They would just fight as long as they could.

"That's why the country can't rely on them because in history, the only failed government was the administration under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin," he said.

Apart from that, Amirudin also advised all parties in the Unity Government to leave behind their differences moving forward.

He stressed that cooperation between parties is very much needed to ensure that traitors can be rejected and will never be accepted by the people.

"If they (PN) comes spreading racial fire, forget it. Selangor people will not be consumed by these games.

"If they come, just listen and close the door. Focus on the support (for the Unity Government) to continue this excellence," he said.
