Muhyiddin predicts a change in government, says 'anything can happen'
AWANIKUALA LUMPUR - Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin did not rule out the possibility of a change in the Federal government if Perikatan Nasional (PN) wins all the State Elections in six states.
However, the PN Chairman refused to comment on how the government change will take place but insisted that it would be able to some extent challenge the position of the existing government if PN wins in all six states.
"It was mentioned earlier that the six states will go to the polls; this is not a small number. If six states face elections and six states are won and controlled by PN, of course those sitting in Putrajaya will be shaken.
"I guess that's why Azmin mentioned it earlier in the month of August—the possible month the state elections will be held. So, I also want to pray for the month of August and hope this will be accepted by Allah and a new government will be formed.
"As the Indonesians would say 'segala-galanya bisa ' (everything can happen)," he said in the Ceramah Perdana Jelajah Selangor Baharu, Kita Bangkit, on Saturday night.
On Thursday, PN confirmed that it will compete in all 245 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in this polls, involving Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor, Kedah, and Penang.
At the same event, Selangor PN Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali claimed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be overthrown as soon as the coalition wins the Selangor state elections. - Awani
