Pua is a political outcast – Johor Umno
JOHOR BAHRU - Former DAP publicity secretary Tony Pua's statement to bash BN now with Pakatan Harapan (PH) as a ‘corrupt coalition’ is simply a publicity stunt.
Johor Umno Youth chief Noor Azleen Ambros said the ‘heated’ statement would surely attract media attention and many would focus on Pua.
“Johor Umno Youth sympathises with Pua. As a political outcast, we understand he would surely be looking for an area and chances to remain relevant.
“He may be hoping that with such statements he would be able to steal the spotlight and the respect from the media and public,” he said when contacted on Saturday.
Azleen stated Pua’s statement did not affect Umno’s focus and main objective at the time.
“Now we must ensure the victory of candidates from the BN-PH unity government coalition in the state elections in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Terengganu, Kedah and Kelantan,” he said.
The media previously reported Pua during the DAP Fundraiser Dinner Ceremony at the Petaling Jaya City Hall (MBPJ) here on Friday declared BN as corrupt coalition.
Pua also said he hoped that PH would be able to form its own government among the coalition components without involving Umno and BN if it won in the upcoming general election (GE).
He said Anwar must set an example for Malaysians as well as parties of various races who did not trust that the diverse coalition was clean and not corrupt.
