KUANTAN - A couple experienced moments of anxiety when they found themselves stranded on a rocky area in Teluk Tongkang as a result of high tide on Thursday.

The husband, 38, and his 36-year-old wife were fortunate to be rescued by a team from the Civil Defence Force (APM).

Kuantan district civil defence officer Captain Saifu Nizam Ab Rahman said his department was alerted to the incident at about 2:50pm.

"APM subsequently despatched three rescuers to the scene via a boat.

"The couple was successfully rescued and handed over to the medical team for examinations at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA)," he said.
