SHAH ALAM - Eight out of the 43 major dams located in Johor, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak have reached a warning level, said National Water Service Commission (Span).

In a statement, Span said four water treatment plants (LRA) have recorded water levels at alert level.

"The Timah Tasoh Dam is currently at a level of 26.84 metres while the minimum level for this dam is at 26 meters," he said.

The Pedu Dam is at 89.60 metres and the Muda Dam is at 91.67 metres.

The Malut Dam is currently at 68.08 meters while the minimum level of 66 metres. The Air Hitam Dam is at 228.07 metres while the minimum level is 223.55 metres.

“The current reading for the Teluk Bahang Dam showed 35.18m (minimum reading should be 30.30m) and Bukit Merah Dam recording 6.99m (minimum level should be at 5.48m),” it said in a statement.

The Sembrong Barat Dam was at 9.36m while its minimum reach should be at 7.36m.
