Viral ‘Inspector Sheila’: Eight investigation papers opened
KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry today confirmed that investigation papers have been opened in connection to the female police officer who went viral recently for a series of threats.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that two investigation papers were opened under the Penal Code, while six investigation papers were opened under the Federal Police Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS).
"Investigation papers were opened under Section 506 (for criminal intimidation) and Section 186 (for obstructing public servant in discharge of his public functions) of the Penal Code.
"Both investigation papers have been referred to the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit (D5)," he said at a press conference held at the Police Training Centre here.
Within the police organisation, he said, JIPS has opened six investigation papers.
Saifuddin also revealed that the police had recorded a statement from the female police officer on June 18, and she was currently suspended from duties pending investigations.
Recently, a female civil servant believed to be a police officer went viral on social media for allegedly insulting a low-ranking police officer in Gombak.
The same woman has now attracted social media attention again for engaging in a verbal altercation with a member of the public at a shopping mall parking lot on Saturday.
In the one-minute and thirty-second viral video, the woman scolds an individual, presumably a member of the public, who was attempting to park in a designated parking area.
