KAJANG - Two individuals suspected of causing injuries to a convenience store worker in Semenyih have been arrested by police on Wednesday.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said both suspects were locals.

“The suspects aged 31 and 32 years old were arrested by a police team from the Kajang district police headquarters (IPD) Serious Crimes Branch (D9) in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and Sepang, Selangor.

“The arrest was done at 11.30am and 12.30pm and two phones were seized to aid in investigations,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the suspects had prior records for crimes and drugs.

“The case was investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code,” he said.

A convenience store worker in Semenyih was injured after he was beaten at the scene on Tuesday.

The victim was beaten due to reprimanding the suspect for taking three umbrellas and leaving the premise without paying.
