The incident on Monday also left the victim, Lee Wai Peng, 49, concerned for her safety as the two men seemed to behave like a gangster.
Lee said the individuals, who appeared to be in their 20s and 40s, came to his restaurant claiming to be from a company that supplies and maintains fire extinguishers.
"They requested to renew the fire extinguisher in my restaurant, which was nearing its expiration date.
"When I informed them that I had renewed the service with another company, they started berating me like gangsters, scaring away the customers at the restautant," she said during a press conference with Negeri Sembilan State Women, Family and Welfare Exco, Nicole Tan Lee Koon, today.
Furthermore, she claimed that the individuals told her that they have authority over the maintenance of fire extinguishers in the Bukit Kepayang area.
However, Lee told them that she has the right to choose the services she wanted.
"After that, they made hand gestures and said 'you better watch out'.
"They seemed to be threatening me. In my 10 years of business, this is the first time I have encountered such a case," she said.
Meanwhile, Tan advised the affected premise owners to make a police report on the incident.
He said contractors providing such services should not force premise owners to use their services and urged premise owners to check the list of authorised contractor companies issued by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.
