PUTRAJAYA -The Education Ministry has extended the registration date for the Malaysian Certificate of Examination (SPM) Year 2023 for private candidates until June 30 at 6pm.

MoE in a statement on Tuesday announced that the decision to extend the date is in line with the fourth element of the ministry's excellence principles which is focusing on education dropout issues

It was also Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's wish that a second chance be given to almost 30,000 SPM candidates last year who did not attend the examination.

"Registration for 2023 SPM examination is carried out online through the Online Examination Management System (SPPAT) app at sppat.moe.gov.my," the statement read.

Candidates must comply with the registration terms and conditions and carry out a basic payment and extra for any additional subjects.

SPM year 2022 graduates are exempt from the late registration fee while exam registration for private candidates other than the 2022 candidates are still subject to registration conditions.

"Further information on registration for 2023 SPM examination for private candidates can be obtained from the Examination Board website at the link lp.moe.gov.my," according to the statement.

The ministry is always concerned about the future of the nation's future leaders and hopes that the 2022 SPM candidates will make the most of the opportunity to improve their examination results.

Previously, the registration date for SPM Year 2023 for private candidates had ended on June 16.
