Foreign man stabbed by colleagues due to unfair salary
AMPANG JAYA - Unsatisfied by the salary from garbage collection, a foreign man was stabbed by a group of colleagues at the side of Jalan Pandan Cahaya 2/2, Pandan Cahaya, here on Friday.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said he received reports of a 39-year-old cleaner who was stabbed at 10pm.
"The incident happened at about 9pm after the victim returned home from his employer's dinner party at Kampung Pandan.
"He then left for Jalan Cahaya to drive the garbage truck.
"As he arrived at the location of the incident, the victim was ambushed by five of his colleagues who injured his cheek and left shoulder using a knife, causing him to bleed," he said in a statement on Monday.
He said the suspects then fled the scene.
"The victim was sent to the Ampang Hospital for further treatment," he said.
Azam said the Bukit Aman forensic unit arrived at the scene and found a pair of shoes and a knife with a black edge, along with blood on the road.
"The five suspects were arrested in a raid at a flat in Taman Impian Warisan, Hulu Langat at 5.10pm on Saturday," he said.
He said the cause of the incident was dissatisfaction over the salary received, which was deemed not equal.
"Urine samples of the five men aged 23 to 27 years old found two positive for methamphetamine," he said.
He said they were unemployed and did not have prior records.
"They were remanded until Wednesday to assist in investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code," he said.
