KUALA LUMPUR - Police have initiated an investigation into a female police officer for causing a commotion in the parking lot of a shopping center in Brickfields today.

According to Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor, the investigation was initiated following a dispute between the female police officer and a member of the public on Friday.

A 27-year-old woman lodged a police report regarding the incident while she and her family were present.

Amihizam added that initial findings from the investigation indicate that the disagreement arose when the female police officer attempted to park her vehicle next to the complainant's vehicle, which had its driver's side and rear passenger's side doors open.

"The complainant stated that her grandmother was changing her nephew's disposable diaper at the time.

"The disgruntled female police officer, however, honked, shouted and scolded the complainant and her family members.

"The officer also mocked the complainant's attire and proceeded to record a video," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Amihizam further noted that the dispute was ultimately resolved with the assistance of a couple who witnessed the incident.

The disciplinary proceedings and the mental well-being of the female police officer are currently under examination by the police department, said Amihizam.

He advised the public from speculating about the viral video and urged the public to report any pertinent information related to the case to the Brickfields police hotline at 03-2297 9222, the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-2115 9999, or the nearest police station.
