IPOH - Former Umno Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, has refuted claims that he is among the list of 10 'warlords' set to join the Perikatan Nasional (PN) party.

Tajuddin stated that he had no knowledge of such a matter and reaffirmed his commitment to remain with Umno.

"I have no involvement in this, and I am unaware of it. I am still loyal to Umno. Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Umno president), do not worry, I am firmly with Umno and will support the party.

"I hope that Zahid leads effectively. If he acts in a fair manner for the betterment of the party and the Malay community, I will back him," he told a press conference held on Sunday.

Sinar Harian on Monday reported that PN will announce the names of 10 Umno 'warlords' who have been set aside to join the party in the near future.

Its secretary-general, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, said the names will be revealed at a suitable programme, and currently, the PN leadership is finalising the matter.

Apart from the former Selangor Umno Chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar, the former Health Minister, who is also the former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, was mentioned among the individuals who will join PN.
