'They seem to focus on Pas, Bersatu' - Muhyiddin
SYAJARATULHUDA MOHAMAD ROSLIGEORGETOWN - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) raid of the coalition's secretary general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin's house as a politically motivated act.
Muhyiddin said that such acts must be stopped because the country practises democracy and all parties have the right to do anything as long as it is not wrong.
"It also seems like they are focused on Pas, Bersatu and others. Like my case, it is all politically motivated. I hope they stop doing things like this.
"Give us a chance. This is democracy; everyone has the right to do anything unless they do something wrong. That's a different story.
"It is up to the police to carry out investigation and not to take action solely for their political interests," he said after the Penang PN Machinery Convention and Launch on Saturday.
Previously, the media reported that Opposition leader Hamzah's house was raided by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
On Friday, the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim insisted that he was not informed about the raid.
Anwar said that the IRB's act at Hamzah's house was the agency's business as an investigative body.
