'I was not informed about IRB raiding Hamzah's house' - PM
CYBERJAYA - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that he was not informed of the raid by Inland Revenue Board (IRB) officials at opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin's house.
He said the raid at the former home minister residence was the agency's business as an investigative body.
"That is IRB's business as an investigative body and I was not informed," he said when met after performing Friday prayers at Masjid Raja Haji Fisabilillah, Cyberjaya.
The raid in Damansara on Tuesday was believed to be related to an unreported tax issue.
It was understood that Hamzah was at home during the raid.
Meanwhile, Anwar also denied the speculations that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was on vacation for two weeks.
"There is no such thing (Zahid on a holiday)," said Anwar when asked by reporters
He also spent some time shaking hands and engaging in small talks with the people before leaving. - AWANI
