Johor cops hunt Singaporean Hyundai Starex MPVs for queue-cutting incident at Johor Causeway
ZULHISHAM ISAHAKJOHOR BAHRU - Cops in Johor are tracking down six Hyundai Starex multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) from Singapore for cutting queue at Johor Causeway, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI), here, today.
South Johor Bahru distict police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said one of the six MPV drivers had been identified and the police had issued a summon.
He said the man and five other MPV drivers had committted the offence at 2.50pm on June 9.
"The police were alerted with a three-minute video circulating on social media, showing several Hyundai Starex vehicles using separate lanes for trucks and buses to cut queue.
"All vehicles were traveling from Singapore to Malaysia in which lorries and buses were blocked from using the lane because of their action," he said in a statement today.
Raub said the police had been trying locate the other drivers involved in the incident.
He said those who witness to the incident to come forward to help in the investigation by contacting police at 07-2237977.
In a viral video, multiple MPVs were seen obstructing passage of lorries and buses, resulting in lorry drivers repeatedly honking in response.
