Five juveniles nabbed for throwing stones at passing vehicles ‘for fun’
SEREMBAN - Police have arrested five teenage boys believed to be the ones throwing stones and sticks at vehicles driving through Kilometre 253.3 of the Senawang-Seremban Highway last Monday.
Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Arifai Tarawe said all those aged 14 and 15 years old were arrested between 5pm and 7pm yesterday.
He said a preliminary investigation found that the group had carried out the action merely for fun.
"Three teens were arrested near the Tenaga Nasional Berhad substation in Bandar Seremban Selatan, while the other two were arrested in Taman Seremban Jaya.
"The police will apply for remand against them today so that further investigation can be conducted," he said.
He said that with the arrest, it is hoped that there will be no repeat of such irresponsible acts in the area.
It was reported previously that the police were tracking down four individuals allegedly involved in the act.
This follows a police report lodged by a 32-year-old lorry driver who claimed an object was thrown at the windscreen of his lorry while passing through the highway.
The driver said he suffered a loss of RM1,000 due to the incident.
