State polls: Majority of Pas candidates not from religious background
Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah
KOTA BHARU - Pas reveals that the majority of its candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming elections in six states are not those from religious background as usual.
Its vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah said previously, many assumed that the candidates being fielded were religious preachers (ustaz).
"However, we are constantly adding in those who are not from the religious field to improve the administration.
"The same applies for new candidates, many are professionals," he said in a press conference after the Exco Meeting in Kota Darulnaim, today.
He said in the state polls this time, Pas will balance the involvement of professionals and religious groups to form a more stable future in the administration.
