SHAH ALAM - Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has urged Pas to not discredit any states in the country just because it wants to play an uneducated political narrative.

The Muar MP said Pas' remark that Penang needed to learn from the Palestine history because the state had claimed little by little of the Muslim majority areas through development was far from the actual situation.

"Penang is among the states that we should emulate. Why? Its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 6.8 per cent placing it among the five states with the highest growth rates, with an average wage of RM3,080.

"It is also one of the states with the lowest poverty rate, having recorded RM76 billion in manufacturing investment and creating 12,000 job opportunities, " he tweeted on Tuesday.

Syed Saddiq said the people of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu also get to enjoy the job opportunities.

"Penang is also a state that values sustainability. Georgetown has received the Asean Clean Tourist City Standard Award.

"The state has the highest recycling rate at 51 per cent and has a record for cleanest and safest air quality in Malaysia," he said.

He added that Penang was also among the states which was the most successful in aspects of economy in the country.
