Tragic accident claims life of teacher trapped in car collision in Temerloh
TEMERLOH - A teacher died after being trapped in a car following a two-vehicle accident along Jalan Temerloh-Mentakab here on Wednesday.
The victim, R Ganasan, 44, who served at the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said that the accident involved a Perodua Viva car driven by the victim and an empty log truck.
He said the department was alerted to the incident at 6.39am.
"A total of seven personnel from the Temerloh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene with two vehicles.
"Upon arrival, it was found that an accident involved an empty log truck colliding with the involved car.
"There was a victim trapped inside the car, and the truck driver only suffered minor injuries.
"The Perodua Viva car driver was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by the Health Ministry officer," he said in a statement earlier today.
Firefighters worked diligently, utilising rescue equipment to extricate the trapped victim from the car.
Following the rescue operation, the victim was handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary actions.
