Demolition of Shah Alam Stadium starts in October - Amirudin

The demolition process of the Shah Alam Stadium will start in early October after being postponed from the original schedule due to several reasons.

The process was supposed to start this month.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said although the process will start a little late, the expected completion of the stadium remained in 2026.

"We have to take more time, the demolition process should have started this month, but we want to discuss to get a better price point with the company that will build up the area.

"Right now, the process of sending the application for Planning Permission has been done.

"Demolition will not be made this month (June), it requires planning permission because this is a large structure... it is not easy to be demolished it because all the processes need to be seen.

“Demolition is expected (to start) in September or October.

"(The complex) will still be ready in 2026, which is early 2026 and (ready) in the third quarter of 2026,” he said.

Meanwhile, Amirudin, who was met at the Roda Darul Ehsan Initiative handover ceremony in conjunction with the Selangor Youth Festival 2023 programme donated RM500 to e-hailing drivers, especially in Selangor. – ASTRO ARENA
