'DAP will help Umno all the way' - Nga
IPOH - Every party in the Unity Government has to focus on efforts to strengthen the government instead of digging into the past.
DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming said DAP has put behind it all the past conflicts with Umno.
As said by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, all 19 parties in the government will unite to defend the government as one, Nga added.
"Even Zahid has moved on, so our main focus right now is how DAP can help Umno and how Umno can help DAP strengthen the Malaysia Madani government for the sake of the people's well-being and the country's political stability.
"We will help Umno all the way in the upcoming state election," he told reporters after a work visit to Ipoh, here, today.
Meanwhile, Nga called on Umno Youth to forget about what had happened before and to be more dynamic.
On June 8, Umno Youth demanded that DAP make a public apology for all the accusations thrown at Umno before, which had hurt the feelings of the party members up until today.
Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said if DAP can publicly apologise to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) before, then why can't they apologise to Umno.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke had reportedly asked Umno Youth not to bring up old stories but instead focus on efforts to strengthen the Unity Government.
