SHAH ALAM - Umno Ulama Council Executive Secretary Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali advises Pas leadership against boasting and claiming to be the sole political party fighting for Islam.

The former Kuala Nerus MP further said that the Islamic struggle is not exclusive to the party alone to the point of enabling them to 'purify' anyone who joins it.

He warns that such thinking could have grave implications as it would imply that those who have left the party are no longer part of the Muslim community.

"Pas members preached to accept the party as the only Muslim community in Malaysia and glare at every Muslims who are not part of the party. This incorrect understanding can cause the Muslim community in Malaysia to be divided.

"This is the reason why Pas members do not pray at the mosque built by the government and instead build their own mosques and will only perform Friday prayers at these mosques. This is the reason why the prayer of two imams, solemnisation lead by Umno members is invalid is invalid," he said on his Facebook post today.

He said the misunderstanding among Pas members need to be corrected as it deviates from the true meaning of the hadith.

Khairuddin further said Pas has regressed significantly, as Islamic movements worldwide have already embraced the concept of multiple political parties advocating for Islam as a way of life.

He pointed out that the phenomenon of quitting parties, joining other parties and forming new parties is common within the dakwah (preaching) movement in other Muslim countries.

However, Pas does not recognise this phenomenon as they claim to be the sole party fighting for Islam in Malaysia.

"Distorting the true meaning of the Prophet's hadith will greatly impact the community.

"I am not blaming Pas members who didn't study Islam and can't afford to refer to syarah (lecture) of hadith, instead I am blaming scholars who are distorting the true meaning of the hadith," he added.
