'I'm not interfering in Najib's royal pardon' - Rosmah
KUALA LUMPUR - Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor says she is not interfering in matters related to the royal pardon of her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is currently serving his 12-year prison sentence in the Kajang Prison.
She said she hoped that Najib would be brought out of prison as soon as possible as what was being promised in the 2023 Umno General Assembly.
Rosmah said she was moved by the support given by Umno members in the assembly.
"I felt how much they appreciate my husband's struggles and they also hope that my husband can be released soon.
“All this time they (Umno members) knew that my husband did not get a fair trial,” she said when met at the Umno General Assembly at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here, today.
Yesterday, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Umno wanted justice for Najib and wanted the former Pekan MP to pray and hope for the unity government to win in the state elections soon.
He shared a recording of Najib’s son Datuk Mohd Nizar who said his father was always supporting the unity government and the Umno presidential institution.
Rosmah said Najib communicated a lot with his son when he visited him in the Kajang Prison recently.
“He (Najib) is always talking with Gina (Nooryana Najwa). I merely observed,” she said briefly.
Despite behind bars, the name of the former Pekan MP and the chants of ‘Bossku’ echoed in Dewan Merdeka during Zahid’s speech. - AWANI
