SHAH ALAM - Comedian Jocelyn Chia's Instagram account has been deactivated while her TikTok account’s comment section has been limited after a video of her taking the stage to insult Malaysia and joked about MH370 surfaced online.

Checks on her Instagram account at about 1am earlier today revealed that her Instagram account @chiacomedy had been deactivated, with error message ‘Sorry, this page isn't available.’

On her TikTok account, Sinar Daily found that it was still active with her last post being the video of her ridiculing Malaysia but comments on the post had been deleted while comment sections on her other videos had been limited by the creator.

Yesterday, a video of Chia who began her standup routine by making jokes that insulted Malaysia’s economic development and the tragic disappearance of MH370 at Comedy Cellar in Manhattan, New York went viral online.

She also said Singapore became a first-world country, whereas Malaysia is still a developing country.

Malaysia, what are you now, still a developing country? F--k you, Malaysia." “Isn’t that the best breakup revenge,” she said.

The video incited anger among Malaysians, who also expressed that they were disappointed with the stand-upper.

Wife of missing MH370 cabin crew Mohd Hazrin Mohamed Hasnan, Intan Maizura Othaman had also told Chia to leave MH370 out of her comic.
