SHAH ALAM - The government has been urged to answer the issue of the alleged RM2 billion fund to pay the pensions of MPs and former cabinet members.

Legal practitioner Datuk Khairul Anwar Rahmat said, based on the amount, it can be used to build important public infrastructure.

It is understood that he received the information through an internal source called 'bluebird'.

"It would really surprising to know if it is true that the politicians' pension reaches RM2 billion a year.

"As I was just checking, RM2 billion can build two state-of-the-art hospitals (RM1 billion each).

"It can also be used to build 10 schools if it is assumed that the cost of one school is RM200 million," he said in a Facebook posting.

Khairul Anwar added that he also asked a politician to ask the question.

He also said this following the criticism of an influencer Muhamad Harris Nasril against the government for allegedly wanting to review health subsidies for the people.
