Karangkraf booth becomes centre of attention for 2023 KLIBF

KUALA LUMPUR – Parents, guardians and students make use of the school holiday season by visiting the 2023 Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF).
Pensioner Nor Asiah Husin, 59, said KLIBF gave the opportunity for her to obtain quality reading materials including children's books at the Karangkraf Group booth.
The former librarian said there were many choices offered at the space that could attract the attention of children.
"Karangkraf books for children are not only for reading, but it comes with several stickers inside, among them is the 'Aktiviti Dengan Chibi' book.
"My two grandchildren love it," the Shah Alam resident told Sinar on Thursday.
Hailed from Taiping, Perak and was a fan of the Nona magazine, Asiah also purchased other Karangkraf publication products such as al-Quran.
Another visitor, Arfa Abas, 24, said she was purchased children's books published by Karangkraf for her niece because the content was in line with Malaysians’ values.
"The books like 'Omar and Hana' is not only filled with illustration, but it has Islamic content, I think that's what makes Karangkraf books different," the Universiti Malaya graduate said.
Fatma Syahira Syukor, 16, said her interest in short stories and novels ensured she would not miss the opportunity to purchase books at the Karangkraf booth.
The Sekolah Agama Menengah Pasir Panjang (SAMPP), Sekinchan student explained the high literary value in the works published by Karangkraf aided her in improving her command of the Malay language.
"Since I was in form one I had been interested in short stories and poems. It was a coincidence I found the Karangkraf booth at the KLIBF fair, there are a lot of interesting books, I don't want to let go of the opportunity to purchase it," she said.
The KLIBF took place since last Friday until June 4. It featured 815 booths including foreign exhibitions.
It was organised in a hybrid format for the second year in collaboration with the e-commerce platform Shopee to allow wider access for book lovers.
