KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Pas is giving way for Bersatu to contest in the seats previously won by Umno in the upcoming state election.

Pas deputy commissioner Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah said the matter was the basis of the party's discussion as per the recent general election.

"Bersatu is contesting the seats won by Umno while Pas is contesting the seats it had won.

"At the state level, there are some slight changes in the final stages," he said in a press conference, today.

Earlier, Amar officiated the 2023 Sayyidatina Khadijah Day (HSK) celebration at the Tarbiyah Islamiah Centre (Putik) Pengkalan Chepa, here.

In another development, he said Pas would field 30 per cent of new faces to contest in each election.

He said it would not exclusively involve youths, but new faces.

"It is a normal practice in every election.

"We have a list of candidates, we just want to shortlist them," he said.

He added that all the names of the candidates in Kelantan were in the hands of Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and the selection process will be made upon his discretion.

Amar said each seat would have three candidates.
