Probe underway for delivery worker who opens customer’s parcel – Shopee Express
SHAH ALAM – Following a video circulating on social media that portrays a delivery worker allegedly opening a customer’s parcel, the affected courier company has come forward to assure that an investigation is underway to ensure appropriate action is taken.
Shopee Express spokesperson, in an official statement said the conduct seen in the video was unacceptable and went against the company’s values and stringent service guidelines expected from the teams and partners.
“We have no tolerance for this behaviour, we are currently investigating the matter, and we will take appropriate action against any breaches of conduct.
“We are also taking this opportunity to remind all of our teams and partners of their obligation to ensure that the utmost care is taken in dealing with our users’ packages, and reviewing our processes to avoid such an incident occurring in the future.
“We encourage any users who encounter any issues or concerns during their Shopee experience to reach out to us at +603 2777 9222 or via the Shopee’s Customer Service Portal,” the statement read.
Earlier, a video of a delivery worker seen opening a customer's parcel went viral on social media and garnered over 890,000 views.
Other employees in the video could be seen casually throwing parcels around, demonstrated a complete disregard for the products belonging to the customers.
The video stirred criticism and sparked debate about the need for greater controls and responsibility in the delivery sector.
