MELAKA - The Melaka branch of the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM) has urged event organisers to be vigilant so that incidents that conflict with the norms and culture of the local community do not recur.

Its president, Dr Mohd Nurishaq Mohd Fauzi said this after a video went viral on social media showing an individual exhibiting sensual and indecent acts in front of visitors comprising parents and children.

He said Melaka ABIM strongly condemns the organiser's action for allowing such indecency during the organisation of a festival in Melaka recently.

"Incidents such as these give a bad image to Melaka and goes against the norms of the local community, and these also destroy the respect and trust that are the core of building Malayisa MADANI," he said in a statement here today.

Therefore, he said, Melaka ABIM also urges the local authorities (PBT) to take appropriate action in relation to the incident as a lesson to the parties involved.
