Its president, Dr Mohd Nurishaq Mohd Fauzi said this after a video went viral on social media showing an individual exhibiting sensual and indecent acts in front of visitors comprising parents and children.
He said Melaka ABIM strongly condemns the organiser's action for allowing such indecency during the organisation of a festival in Melaka recently.
"Incidents such as these give a bad image to Melaka and goes against the norms of the local community, and these also destroy the respect and trust that are the core of building Malayisa MADANI," he said in a statement here today.
Therefore, he said, Melaka ABIM also urges the local authorities (PBT) to take appropriate action in relation to the incident as a lesson to the parties involved.
Yesterday, Melaka Mufti Datuk Abdul Halim Tawil was reported to have asked organisers of any events in the state to draw up their own guidelines in order to avoid indecent behaviour by participants during events.
He was quoted as saying that it is important for participants, especially Muslims, to maintain values and morals, so that they become an example to the community - BERNAMA
