Controversial questions are my favorite kind of questions - Salahuddin
NILAM NUR ATIKAH OSHMANSHAH ALAM - The Town Hall Rakyat programme organised by Sinar can be a good platform for the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry to provide information and answer the people's queries
Its Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said he considers the controversial questions the public will ask during the programme as a challenge and that he is ready to answer them.
"My favorite kind of questions are controversial questions. Unexpected and controversial questions is a norm in politics.
"When we are in the political field we must be prepare for it. Thus, we need to read more to increase knowledge.
"After all, as politicians, we need to talk a lot and communicate indirectly so that a lot of information can be conveyed to the people," he told Sinar.
In the meantime, Salahuddin also expressed confidence in Sinar as a media platform that is able to handle the interaction between the people and the ministers.
"So why not, I accepted the offer with a sense of pride and honor.
"This is the time for us to interact casually while also remaining professional. It is an opportunity for the ministry to explain the role and issues previously unclear and not understood by the people," he said.
Salahuddin said the Town Hall programme is the best medium for the ministry to hold exhibitions.
"Visitors can get information they didn't know before such as the role of the ministry.
"Thus, the public can not only watch the talk but also visit the exhibition prepared by the ministry," he added.
