Anwar hopes Lima will enjoy similar success in future editions
KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed hope that future editions of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (Lima) will be as successful as the just-concluded Lima ’23.
The prime minister hoped the biennial event would continue to yield multifold returns for the country’s economic, trade, defence and security sectors.
"Certainly, there are high hopes that Lima ’23 will further strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for the aerospace and maritime industries and realise the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint (MAIB) and Malaysia Shipping Master Plan,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, when speaking at the closing ceremony of Lima ’23 yesterday, said agreements worth RM17.6 billion were signed at Lima ’23, with RM10.1 billion in 43 contracts being defence related.
The five-day Lima ’23, themed "The Nexus of Asia's Maritime and Aerospace Trade”, was the 16th in a series. The next Lima is expected to be held in May 2025. - BERNAMA
