ONCB seizes 1.2 tons of drugs in Songkhla worth 120 million baht

SONGKHLA, Thailand - The Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) managed to seize 1.2 tons of crystal methamphetamine drug worth 120 million baht in Songkhla, Southern Thailand, today.

Secretary General of ONCB Wichai Chaimongkol said the drugs were seized in a house that was used as a storage warehouse.

In addition, he said some of the drugs were also found in two pickup trucks parked in the compound of the house.

"This is the biggest loot of the year. Preliminary investigations found that the drug is intended to be smuggled into Malaysia," he said.

Wichai added that the syndicate was aware of the arrival of the ONCB team and they managed to escape.

"We managed to seize two cars and a motorcycle," he said. - BERNAMA
