IPOH - Bernama TV and Bernama Radio have taken proactive steps in efforts to promote the channels' exclusive programmes on MyTV through the distribution of aprons to the Perak branch of Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran Muslim Malaysia (Presma).

Bernama TV head Nor Hamzeela Hambali said in the programme at Restoran Nasi Briyani Bukhara, about 200 aprons were distributed to employees to wear at the premises so that Bernama TV and Bernama Radio will be better known in the city and nationwide.

"The campaign began with a corporate programme as well as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, organised by the corporate communications department in collaboration with MyTV in Bazaria Lembah Pantai (Kuala Lumpur) on April 13.

"There was a handover of 2,000 units of aprons to Ramadan Bazaar traders in Lembah Pantai (600 units), and the rest to three other locations throughout the country (Ipoh in Perak, Cyberjaya in Selangor and Perlis)," she told Bernama after attending the handover session of aprons, sponsored by Bernama and MyTV here today.

These aprons were handed over by Bernama's head of broadcasting, D Arul Rajoo to Presma vice-president Abdul Hamid Abdul Muthalif.

Nor Hamzeela said in conjunction with the celebration of National Journalists' Day (Hawana) 2023 which was attended by most of the journalists in Perak, it was a great opportunity to distribute the aprons.

The Hawana 2023 celebration, held in Perak from May 27 to May 29, with the theme 'Media Bebas, Tunjang Demokrasi (Free Media, Pillar of Democracy) is to re-emphasise the issue of media freedom in carrying out their duties. May 29 was gazetted as National Journalists' Day in conjunction with the publication of the first edition of the Malay newspaper, Utusan Melayu on May 29, 1939. - BERNAMA
