Indian film composer DSP to compose music for a Malay song
KUALA LUMPUR - Indian film composer and performer Devi Sri Prasad has embarked on an exciting new initiative in which he plans to write the music for a Malay song together with talented Malaysian vocalists and dancers.
The move is expected to increase Malaysian singers' and dancers' global visibility and recognition.
Devi Sri Prasad, also known by his initials DSP, who is now performing in Malaysia for the first time this Saturday, stated that he chose to write the music for a Malay song because he was moved by the unwavering importance Malaysians place on music.
"If possible, I want to compose a song in Malay language by myself and want it to be a authentic Malay song to be released in Malaysia,” he told Bernama in a special interview in conjunction with his upcoming concert at a hotel here on Wednesday.
On his upcoming concert themed ‘DSP Live In Concert - Oo Solriya Tour’ at Bukit Jalil Stadium this Saturday, he said some 30 dancers from Mumbai, India would perform together with him on stage.
He assured that the concert which will begin at around 5pm will definitely be a ‘larger than life’ musical extravaganza organised by HD Entertainment Sdn Bhd, which is expected to be attended by some 15,000 people.
During the concert, DSP will belt out some famous numbers under his composition from the Tamil film Sachein, Veeram and Singam, a Tamil action film series.
