Customer finds nail clippings in food during meal
SHAH ALAM - "Halfway through our lunch, my mother discovered nail clippings in her rice," claimed a Twitter user after finding the unexpected additions on her mother's plate at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
The user shared two images, clearly depicting several nail clippings on the plate.
She said they were enjoying their lunch at the restaurant when the incident occured.
“Not only one but a total of six nail clippings were found in her rice and she had already been chewing on two of them. I'm at a loss for words,” she tweeted.
The restaurant issued an official apology statement on their Facebook page in response to the incident, expressing regret and assuring that they were taking the matter seriously. They further said that they were investigating the issue thoroughly.
“We would like to apologise for the incident that occurred with the food provided. We deeply regret learning that a customer found foreign matter in her food and we understand the concerns and difficulties she has experienced as a result of this incident," it said.
It further said that they have implemented immediate measures to ensure such issues did not repeat itself.
“Our staff is undergoing additional training on food safety and handling protocols and we are improving our quality control.
“We are committed to improve what’s necessary throughout our operations to regain the customers’ trust.
“We truly appreciate any feedback, contact us directly with any suggestions,” it said.
