Fahmi conveys condolences to Wahid Satay's family
KUALA LUMPUR - Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed his condolences to the family of veteran actor Abdul Wahid Ahmad or better known as 'Wahid Satay' who died in Singapore this morning. He was 93.
"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un... Saddened to hear of the passing of the legendary actor Abdul Wahid bin Ahmad or better known as Wahid Satay this morning
"I pray that all his sins will be forgiven, and that his soul will be placed among the righteous... Al-Fatihah," Fahmi said in a Facebook post.
Wahid's second child, Hafizah, 67, said her father will be laid to rest at the Pusara Aman Muslim cemetery in Singapore after the Zohor (midday) prayers.
Wahid, who became active in the world of acting since 1957 and starred in more than 30 films, leaves behind six children.
His wife died in 1995.
During his lifetime, he had won the Oscar Black Gold Award for the Best Actor category at the Asian Film Festival, Manila in 1963, Best Comedian at the Asian Film Festival in Taiwan in 1966 and the Gold Premier Award by MediaCorp at the Perdana Festival in 2007. - BERNAMA
