State election: Annuar, Noh’s participation helps reinforce green wave
KUANTAN - Several prominent political figures who are also former Umno leaders joining Perikatan Nasional (PN) recently can help bring victory to the coalition in the upcoming state elections.
Pas Pahang commissioner Rosli Abdul Jabar said these leaders have great influence, thus increasing the chances to ensure that PN could govern at the state level.
"InsyaAllah, we see them joining the coalition as one big wave that can help PN win in the six states because these Umno leaders such as Tan Sri Annuar Musa (former BN secretary-general) and Tan Sri Noh Omar (former Selangor Umno chairman) have great influence.
"Just like when Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (Arau MP) joined PN (Pas) and brought changes in Perlis.
"So we are confident that there will also be changes in other states," he said at the Aidilfitri celebration at Inderapura Multipurpose Hall, here, today.
Also present at the ceremony were Kuantan MP Wan Razali Wan Nor and more than 1,000 residents around the district.
On Thursday, it was confirmed that Annuar who is Muafakat Nasional (MN) president submitted an application form to join Pas.
The former Kereteh MP said he made the decision after considering the national political scenario and also the situation in Umno.
Commenting further, Rosli said these prominent Umno leaders joining PN also showed that majority of the large Malay party did not agree with the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, especially with DAP in it.
He said the matter was not only at the leadership level, but also at the grassroots level of the party.
"We can see many leaders and members of Umno joining Pas, even at the grassroots level because they disagreed with the coalition formed (the unity government)," he said.
Meanwhile, Wan Razali said he was open to accept any party in PN and was confident that the people can see the wave of change right now.
