KUALA LUMPUR - Several vehicles and houses were damaged by falling trees in several locations, here, following thunderstorm and heavy rain today.

A spokesman from the Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) said they received reports of fallen tress in 19 locations around the city centre since 8.12pm.

"The 19 locations included Jalan Kuching, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Jinjang Aman 2, Jalan Kampung Padang Balang, Jalan Danau Saujana 1 Danau Kota, Jalan Sultan Ismail (Bukit Nanas), Jinjang Selatan, Astana Mont Kiara, PSN Raja Chulan and Kampung Padang Balang.

"There were also reports of fallen trees at Jalan Dato Senu 26, Jalan Syed Putra, Jalan Stesen Sentral 2, Jalan Ipoh (SMK Batu Muda), Tasik Titiwangsa, Jalan Udang Kepal Segambut, Masjid Negara, Jalan Santan, Segambut and Jalan 2/23D Danau Kota,” he said in a statement today.

He added that APM also received reports of vehicles involving cars and motorcyles crushed by fallen trees.

He said some roads were also blocked due to he incident.

"Works to move the fallen trees has been carried out," he said.
