ALOR SETAR - Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) vice president Datuk Mahfuz Omar is glad that Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has accepted the fact that he had accused him of the relocation of Sports Toto gambling premises to the Pokok Sena area in 2019.

Mahfuz, who is also a former Pokom Sena MP, said he hoped Sanusi would repent over his actions.

He said if Sanusi felt like the High Court and the Court of Appeal's decisions were incorrect, he could file an appeal to the Federal Court.

"But since Sanusi did not continue the appeal to the Federal Court, then it seems he has accepted defeat and agrees with the decision made by the High Court and the Court of Appeal that he had defamed me.

"Sanusi finally accepts the fact that I have no connection to the relocation of the gambling premises, as he had slandered me,' he said in a statement today.

He said the court's decision to find the Pas election director guilty of defaming him proves that his sensibility has not faded over the issues, as claimed by Sanusi in his defamation.

"Alhamdulillah may Sanusi's repentance last and he be no longer upset," he said.

Sanusi had previously apologised to the Kedah PH chairman via Facebook on Friday.
