BENTONG - A husband and wife were found dead, believed to have fallen from a hotel building in Genting Highlands here on Tuesday.

Bentong District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said, both victims were local citizens aged 37.

According to him, the police received a call about the incident at 9.46pm.

"Preliminary investigations found that the couple from Taiping, Perak came to Genting Highlands on May 11 and had checked into a hotel room here.

"The results of the closed circuit recording (CCTV) inspection found that starting from the second date the victim registered until the date of the incident, no one but them came in and out of the hotel room," he said in a statement on Friday.

Zaiham said, as a result of the police investigation, they also found that there was no element of crime in the case

"The post-mortem report by the hospital on the male victim found that the cause of death was 'massive hemothorrex' and the cause of death of his wife was a severe head injury," he said.

In the meantime, Zaiham asked the public not to make any speculations and requested for the public to contact the Bentong District Police Headquarters (IPD) Operations Room at 09-2222222 or any nearby police station if they have information related to the case involved.
