SHAH ALAM - Mid Valley Megamall management has announced that the mall will resume operations tomorrow.

In a statement, it said the management has confirmed that all offices, hotels, and shops within the building will operate as usual.

"Following a thorough investigation by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the fire department, we have received permission from the relevant parties to continue operations as usual.

"We thank our customers for their cooperation and patience during this challenging period.

"We would also like to thank all local authorities, including the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, TNB and the Police for their swift action and cooperation," the statement said.

The premises were closed to the public after the substation outside the shopping center caught fire at earlier today at 10am

Motorists using the Federal Highway reported part of the building had caught fire.

The Fire and Rescue Department had said initial probed showed that the fire was likely caused by overheating cooling oil at the substation.

Kuala LumpurOperations Unit assistant director M Fatta M Amin said the oil, which can withstand heat up to 137 degrees Celsius, is used to cool cables at the substation and not for power generation.
