KOTA BHARU Almost 10 per cent of graduates of polytechnics and community colleges ventured into entrepreneurship after completing their studies, said Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (JPPKK) senior director (competency) Zainab Othman.

She said that according to data from 2018 to 2020, up to 7,000 students who became entrepreneurs were successful in their respective fields.

"Our students have been exposed to entrepreneurial knowledge since the first semester in order to open job opportunities when they graduate.

"Programmes offered at polytechnics and community colleges to some extent have helped them to gain some knowledge and skills on entrepreneurship,” she told Bernama after officiating the state-level TVET@PolyCC Carnival 2023 at Dewan Jubli Perak, the Kota Bharu Polytechnic, here today.

Elaborating, Zainab said JPPKK is always mobilising efforts to strengthen cooperation and forge smart partnerships with the industry to increase the marketability of graduates.
