99 areas in Selangor to experience water cuts from May 22
SHAH ALAM - Ninety-nine areas in Klang, Shah Alam, and Kuala Selangor will experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting May 22 (Monday).
Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said this was due to a burst pipe at Jalan Bukit Cerakah in Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor.
According to the statement, the water disruption will begin at 9am on Monday (May 22), and the repair work is expected to be completed by 3am on Tuesday (May 23).
The water supply is expected to fully recover by 9pm on May 24.
"The emergency repair works involve a 2,200 millimetre main distribution pipe, covering a large-scale distribution area.
"Therefore, the repairs and recovery period will take a longer time," said Air Selangor via Facebook today.
The agency also notified the public that the water supply will be restored in stages once the repair work is completed and the main water supply distribution system has stabilised.
However, if the leak becomes critical, the emergency repair work will commence earlier than the notified date, it added.
"Consumers in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water and use water prudently throughout the disruption period.
"For more information, consumers can follow Air Selangor on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or directly contact Air Selangor on 15300.
"Questions and complaints can be made via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor app," said the statement.
