'People are fortunate, the unity government prioritises them' - Mujahid

SHAH ALAM - The 2023 Unity Government National Convention on Sunday which witnessed 19 political parties coming together under one roof with ideas to bring the country forward has sparked renewed hope.

Amanah vice president Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa said this seems like the right direction for Malaysia to work towards a more dynamic and competitive level of recovery.

He explained if the previous stability was based on the post-conflict of hatred there is a need for the stability in the nation's recovery from the implications caused by Covid-19.

"Although there was a crisis that shocked the country, enveloping it in darkness, but the leadership's task is to pave the way and bring hope and shine the light upon the nation.

"Yesterday it was not only an assembly, political observers and the people must know that all 19 parties have proven a principle that guarantees the rise of the nation which was 'Nation First'.

"The people are fortunate because political parties agree towards the people's will to throw away their egos and focus on addressing what the issues that are currently suffering from. Yesterday's comvention was a commitment to ignite fresh politics in the nation," he said on a Facebook post on Monday.

However, the Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman added the challenge faced by the Unity Government now is to fulfill the hopes pf the people which is an administration with integrity.

He said this would ease the burdens of the people, besides overcoming racial and religious hate that was always plaguing the nation's unity.

"There are voices that still continue to play the old music of racism and hatred, they will still continue on their path.

"Let them do what they want to do which is looking out after their own interests and their old ways ," he said.

Mujahid said what was seen as impossible has been proven otherwise as could be witnessed by all the leaders gathered.yesterday.

He was confident that the recovery era will be realised with the level of maturity shown at the Unity Government National Convention.
