KUALA LUMPUR - Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal today said the unity agenda remains one of the most crucial aspects in Malaysia, especially after the country witnessed the change of three prime ministers since 2020.

"Warisan, from the beginning, we have given our support to state that when it happens, our position is to be with the voice of the people as the voice of the grassroots must be respected," he said at Unity Government's convention at Umno headquarters, here, today.

The Sabah MP said it was crucial to bound together with the intention to build a sovereign nation.

"Among us, as a community, the people in the villages, towns, and rural areas, they need to see our direction," he said.

He reminded Malaysians of the war in Ukraine as people fighting over different political ideologies to lead the country, causing the loss of innocent lives.

"We are here to serve the people, not to be served.

"What is important is that we must have qualities of tolerance, sacrifice, inclusiveness, some of the values that we need to apply in our leadership," he told the Unity Government's leadership.

He further said there must be sincerity within leaders.
