KUALA LUMPUR - Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged 19 component parties in the Unity Government to immediately establish harmony to prepare for the upcoming state elections in six states.

This call was one of the four issues addressed by the Umno President during his closed-door meeting with Umno division leaders during the National Unity Government Convention at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL), today.

Zahid said efforts to establish harmony need to be accelerated and has instructed Umno divisions to mobilise the party machinery immediately.

"AS the divisional elections are over, I requested for past disputes to be left behind and let unity prevail.

"We also want them to reach out to various communities, both among party members in the Unity Government and non-partisan voters," he told reporters after the meeting.
