KUALA LUMPUR - Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) remains committed to fighting for Sarawak's rights as stipulated in the Malaysia Agreement of 1963 (MA63).

Wanita SUPP representative Kho Teck Wan said the party wants a stable government.

"During the 15th general election (GE15), no political party secured a clear majority to form the government. Due to that, the establishment of a Unity Government was mandated by the Yang Dipertuan Agong," she said during her speech at the Unity Government National Women Convention held at the World Trade Centre today.

"Gabungan Parti Sarawak prioritises the stability of the government to focus on economic efforts by the newly formed administration.

She said unity and political stability should be common priorities for Wanita SUPP.

The Women's Convention will focus on issues such as the economy, nation-building, and the role of women in Malaysia Madani.

The event, themed 'Madani Mewajahi Masa Depan Malaysia', will conclude with a message from the Chairman of the Unity Government Secretariat, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, followed by the announcement of the convention declaration.

Anwar previously said that the convention is aimed to establish a common direction and course of action for governing the country and foster common policies among the parties in the Unity Government.
