Mothers should not dwell on guilt

SHAH ALAM - Mothers should not dwell on guilt, they should channel their emotions into the right direction.

Malaysian actress Sharifah Sakinah encouraged all mothers out there to not sit with negative emotions eventhough it takes time to switch back to being positive.

"I do believe in energy and emotion, it takes time to switch and channel our emotions into the right direction.

"If you entertain the emotion, having thoughts like 'I'm not a good mother', eventually this negativity will drag you down for days which is not healthy," she said this during Sinar Daily's Relatable programme entitled 'Challenges of Motherhood' which was aired yesterday on all its social platforms.

Sakinah encouraged all mothers out there who are going through a difficult phase to rise up and face the world.

"You need to get out from that 'dark room', you need to stand up and face the situation.

"This is mainly because we came into this world for a purpose, you cannot take shortcuts, the only way to overcome a negative situation is to face it," she said.

Being a person who is diagnosed Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sakinah shared how she would channel her energy through the right channels with has impacted her life in a wonderful way.

"My day starts as early as 5am, kicking off with exercise, meditation and manifestation.

"You have to cleanse yourself first and that's why I created a wellness and fitness platform just for mothers

"I'm glad my ADHD is such a gift for me channel more energy," she said.
