State Elections: Selangor BN have submitted a candidates list

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Umno and BN have yet to finalise their candidates contesting in the Selangor state election.

Selangor Umno chairman Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin said the list of candidates contesting was still being tabled to the BN Central Supreme Committee.

“We have submitted the list of candidates to the supreme committee and I myself have attended the meeting several days ago.

“We have conveyed BN’s wishes including representing the component parties and the number of seats of which we want to compete in Selangor.

“However, the areas were not identified and I have received an invitation for a meeting on May 17 to finalise our recommendations,” he said on Friday.

Megat was speaking at a press conference relating to BN’s latest development and preparations in facing the state elections at the Selangor Umno Office in Section 14 here.

He added the discussion would be held with Pakatan Harapan (PH) after BN candidates were finalised at the party level and was agreed upon by the supreme committee.

Megat Zulkarnain said the supreme committee of the party agreed to and have finalised for Selangor BN to use the scale logo in the state elections.

“On BN’s level the Supreme Council have decided that we (Selangor BN) will contest using BN’s logo in Selangor.

“This decision will ward off any assumptions that (Selangor) BN will use logos of certain parties,” he said.
